It's very pretty, very stylish, but I'm not sure if it was a dress or a coat. Or maybe it served as both.

It is very stylish, as I said, and I love the color. Her gown from Sunday night (picture in the link you provided) is lovely too and she looked gorgeous in it.
I was not happy with Melania's hat. I have to say that this was the first time ever that I didn't care for what she was wearing.
Agree on both points. I adored the baby blue with matching opera length kid gloves from 2016.
Former VP Harris looked like she was attending Michael Jackson's funeral in 'tribute' attire.
Ivanka's green ensemble was divine.
Totally agree on all. Melania's blue outfit from 2016 was beyond stunning!! She is quite the fashion plate, has a lovely style. I have a feeling that today's outfit/hat will remain the only thing she wears that I didn't care for.

Usha’s pink coat and high heeled boots were stunning. Her hairstyle was a great choice too, I mean wearing it up when you are outside subject to the wind. Better than having it blow in your face.
VP Harris telegraphed her feelings in her funeral black attire😀 It was such a contrast from 2020 when she wore a bright purple coat.
I didn't remember what Harris wore in 2020 so I looked it up. IMO it was very underwhelming. I've never thought she had a great sense of style, nor am I a fan of hers. I have to say, however, that I liked her black outfit from Monday much better and her black coat looked very good with that white and black scarf. She might not have been happy this inauguration but she actually was dressed better IMO.

I have always liked basic black though. I am wearing black pants right now.
It is just that Inauguration Day calls for something more cheerful. Harris’s outfit was nice, but she could have worn a splash of color. Or maybe she could have worn a brightly colored coat with just a black armband to show how she felt😁
