His "acting" in UK "sitcom" Vicious...

Rheon appears in a Sitcom here in the UK called Vicious. It's about two aging homosexual actors and stars Sir Derick Jacobi and Sir Ian McKellen.

Rheon plays the young neighbour. The show is poor, but the worst part of it is Rheon's acting. I can't put my finger on (That's what she said) what it is. I'm sure he thinks he has to act like a mentalist as it's a sitcom. Some of the most abysmal acting I have ever seen.

Anyhow what do you think? If you are lucky enough to have never seen it look it up on YouTube.

Great show, I think it's the way it's written, naive you neighbour to 2 aging queens, I think he plays it well, Ramsey is as far away from that character as you could get, evil personified.

reply

Agreed, Clarence-Worley - It's a sitcom, a fun, silly show and I think Iwan is fine in it. It's not Hamlet after all.

Dialogue in sitcoms are very different

reply

Agreed. Besides Game of Thrones, I've seen him in a couple of movies, and Vicious, and to be honest he's not a very good actor - at least in the things I've seen him in. In GoT you can't really say that they're actors acting, the show is so over the top with fantasy and historical fiction and mythology that it's more of a character playing a part in a cartoon. Don't misinterpret that, I love the show, but he's not called on to play much more than the super evil bastard, which is really one dimensional. There's not a lot of range involved when all you do is flay people, feed people to dogs and stab family members to death. I'm sure he's a fine actor, he just needs to make better choices in what he decides to act in.

reply

Well you know what they say about opinions...I can't see him playing jon snow (what he was almost chosen for if legend is true) but this was not one dimensional acting. At all.

reply

He is so adorable in this role too!

reply

Who wouldn't want to work with that cast, they look like they're having so much fun.

reply

That's where I recognize him from.

We just finished the second season of Vicious here in the US a few months ago.

As to the "acting", first, you can blame the writers and the director and second, when you're playing against Ian McKellan and Derrick Jacoby you're going to suffer by comparison.

I think the dialogue and action they've given Ash to do is just awful. But then it is for all of the characters. I'm surprised the show has been renewed for a third season.
