Reasons why Trump Won - Honest Truth from Democrat Voter

Do you totally agree with this following assessment towards what may have gone wrong with the Harris/Walz campaign:

https://www.reddit.com/r/fivethirtyeight/comments/1gksnsn/reasons_why_trump_won_honest_truth_from_democrat/

- Unpopular to begin with

Harris was already unpopular in 2020 when she became VP for Biden. She already was not liked by males of color because of her history as a deputy. Also, she became the face of DEI and people realized she was only chosen as VP because of her skin color and gender. Then no primaries or election and she was auto chosen as candidate was not a good move.

- Silent as a VP

She was complete opposite of Pence under Trump and Biden under Obama. When things were going tough and hard for Americans, she remained silent. She did not give words of encouragement, she never had any interviews, just stayed silent.

- Ukraine vs Russia

This is a bigger loss for Democrats as a whole but I believe it really did hurt her campaign. In 2022 and 2023, when things were going really hard and difficult for Americans: people losing jobs, economy down, prices up, etc. Then the headline of the day would be: '83 billion in aid sent to Ukraine', "120 billion in aid sent to Ukraine" no American wanted to hear or read that. Americans are struggling and you send aid in Billions to Ukraine?

- Illegal immigration

To build off the previous point, illegal immigration really did hurt her campaign. Biden tried too late to enforce a bill to control that issue but it was too late. No way would Trump allow a victory to Biden's team that close to the election.

- Abortion vs Economy

People might be surprised but for majority of working Americans, the state of the economy is more important than the state of abortions. Trump has been clear on this issue "STATE DECISON" whatever the state wants, that's what will be protected. Having abortion as a leading factor for your campaign instead of economy, jobs, etc was a dumb move.

- Israel vs Palestine

This is the most confusing to me. Somehow Trump became more popular with middle eastern, muslim, and Palestine votes due to this issue. Look Biden administration did not handle this well, but I do not understand how these groups believe Trump is going to be better.

*Forgot to add

- Covid is no longer purely Trump's fault

People are no longer blaming only Trump for COVID. People saw that he isn't the reason for COVID and decided to not put that into consideration when voting this time around

- Life was better 2016-2020 compared to now. People remember economy being better and cost of living being cheaper.

reply

People's lives are worse than 4 years ago, that is pretty much the main reason.

Actually that was the first question asked in the debate, Harris was very prepared and weaseled out of it.

Trump could have simply won the debate by saying:"Ask yourself, are your lives better or worse from 4 years ago?". But he missed it, unlike most candidates he was not from a lawyer background, was not that good at debate.

He was very good at winning the crowd, he is a show man, but debate is not his strong suit.

reply

Harris appeared to be doubling down on everything that happened under the Biden Regime which would be more of the same.

reply

Yup, this sounds pretty spot on.

reply

In hindsight, she never had a chance

reply

Harris got further than any DEI candidate ever.

When Biden won the primary, he decided to eliminate 85% of the available candidates and specifically choose woman of color.

OK, fine, but despite eliminating 85% of the candidates, was Kamala Harris was the best female candidate available in the entire country? Honestly, if I was a woman, I would be horrified that this woman was the best DEI candidate in the country.

It's like Biden didn't care at all about his running mate beyond the fact that the candidate would be a woman and of color - her qualifications, intelligence, and knowledge clearly unimportant to him and the Democrat machine.

reply

Kamala Harris is not just a minority woman, her mother is Indian, her father is Afro-Jamaican, basically black Latino, she is several DEI representations rolled into one.

The only pity is that she is not homosexual/transgender.

Joe should have picked Whoopie Goldberg..

reply

He might as well picked a Kardashian.

Health.

RFK I think is a very big deal. I already am seeing doctors and others around the world who are anxious to pour over the data gained from his health initiatives and how they may have a significant result on eliminating cancer, diabetes, obesity, and a whole range of other ailments. I think the MAHA movement was a very big determining factor

reply

Yep, that's one, as well. RFK really surprises me with his wealth of knowledge about health and I feel he is a great asset.

reply

I'm really pulling for him here. Hope he surrounds himself with a lot of good people and we get quite a bit of data out of it that doctors around the world can use for some good.

Nicely done.

Trump obviously won because at the last secret meeting of The Patriarchy I and all the other husbands voted to force our wives to vote for him.

reply

I'm sure you're being sarcastic, but the reality is I know a poll worker in Missouri who said more than one husband insisted on being in the voting booth with his wife and she had to sign a certificate stating she was incompetent and needed help to vote. Very true story.
