Just wait until he gets into character and the first picture of him as Finnick is released. You never know how they're going to style him and he's probably training like mad.

But also isn't he too YOUNG to be Finnick?

I don't know about you, but I have complete faith that Francis Lawrence, Suzanne Collins and the casting directors know exactly what they're doing.

Yes, Unfortunately I think they do know exactly what they are doing: Casting people who are young, have been in hit movies within the last 2 years and appeal to tweens and teenyboppers. Case in point:

This guy, who I'd never heard of but I guess was in Snow White and the Huntsman
Miley Cyrus' boyfriend - who did a good job but still......

I mean, obviously I'm not a casting director, but I just feel like there are other actors out there that are better for this role.

Plus, since he was a tribute from the 'coastal, beachy' district, I always pictured him as a bronzed, beach hunk who used his sex appeal and body to get attention.


***Edited and I know it is way later and I'm probably crazy BUT I wanted to say I watched the movie and thought he did a great job and fit the part well. I was impressed with his performance, range and look. Can't wait for the next ones!***

Finnick is 24. Claflin is 26. Just saying.

Finnick won when he was 14 IIRC and has been in the Capital for less than a decade so he's actually older than what Finnick would have been.

Finnick was about 25-ish in the book, and this bloke is 25-ish. First one whose age they did get right, if you ask me.

Not to get off topic but Miley's boyfriend is not in snow white and huntsman. That is actually Liam's (who is actually Miley's boyfriend) it is his brother Chris who plays the huntsman. Let's not confuse the two please because Chris Is a way better actor!!
