Slams ‘fake’ female empowerment in Hollywood

Wow. Great body and smarts

Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney has hit out at what she calls “fake” pronouncements on female empowerment in the entertainment industry.

Sweeney made the comments in an interview with Vanity Fair published Wednesday, responding to widely reported comments made by Hollywood producer Carol Baum earlier this year, who said Sweeney is “not pretty” and “can’t act.”

Now, the actress and producer has fired back herself, and linked the disparaging remarks to what she says is a wider problem in the industry.

I think she's pretty but I haven't seen any of her movies. Does she suck at acting?

No she’s pretty good.

And she was nominated for two Emmys.

So a representative of Sweeney complained to Carol Baum because she had the audacity to “attack another woman.”

I guess no one can criticize a woman now and must only sign them praises? I wouldn't call that "empowerment", this feminist idea that women are all wonderful and perfect and that they must be supported and praised just because they are women is wrongheaded.

A movement with good intentions that — as usual — was highjacked by others and twisted into a push for power by using intimidation and witch hunts.

My ex-wife worked in an all-female office, and from what she told me that definitely isn't true! 😆
