This doesn't surprise me. It's been coming for a while now but she did it to herself :(

reply

her character isn't really needed anymore, she had 2 seasons, i'll be fine.

reply

That's the thing, she pulled all this shit while in a very weak position. Her character isn't necessary to the show, she could have been written out at any time, with no trouble.

The dont even have to give her a sendoff, just have Mando ask someone from Navarro how she's doing, and they either say she's fine, she left, or she's dead.

reply

*stupid statement*. When will these stupid cons learn they're not living in Nazi Germany?

reply

Carano's statement was distasteful but spare us the partisan BS:

https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/18/politics/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-concentration-camps-migrants-detention/index.html

It's not THAT big a deal & you know it.

reply

Switch places with one of them then.

reply

My point is that Cortez did the exact same thing as Carano; invoked the Holocaust to score partisan points. I didn't care when Cortez did it & I don't care now.

reply

I don't even think it was distasteful. I thought she made a very insightful comparison.

reply

I just don't like comparisons of grievance. It devolves into arguments about who had it worse. Nothing good ever comes of it.

reply

It helps to paint a picture. Also, I don't think the objections to her comparison were legitimate outrage as there was nothing to be outraged about. It was the standard politically motivated outrage mob sent in to cancel someone with the wrong political beliefs. I would bet anything, that if I were to ask any jew I know what s/he thought about the comparison, they would just give me a thoughtful response on how accurate they thought it was. There would be zero outrage.

reply

The sad fact is the Jews refuse to acknowledge that any other group has been as oppressed as they have. If you found an alien race that had their entire planet destroyed and every last alien exterminated the Jews would still say it didn't compare to the Holocaust. The reality is lots of groups of people have been shit on and often to a greater degree than the Jews, but the Jews will never admit it.

reply

They ARE living in Nazi Germany. The Nazi were far leftists.

reply

This makes me sad. I haven't agreed with most of what she has tweeted, but when she explains herself in interviews I don't think she's a bad person. I really enjoyed her character in The Mandalorian, but reading this tweet, I don't blame them for firing her. Consequences for tweets aren't anything new. Just ask Justine Sacco.

reply

or Roseanne!

reply

Agreed, although I used Justine as that was 6 years ago, and as far as I remembered wasn't really political.

reply

[deleted]

Oh wait I didnt know about her latest comments. Yikes.....

reply

Look out for Republicans to take up on her cause. They'll be insufferable.

reply

Who are insufferable are militant leftists that want to cancel everyone and everything that doesn't align with their dogma.

reply

The dogma of not equating genocide with not having a twitter account?

reply

Your comparison doesn't make sense.

reply

Too bad. Because that's what she was saying. She's like a holocaust victim because she can't publish her political views on a message board that has only been in existence for about thirteen years.

reply

I read her tweet and that is not how I interpreted it. I read it as the broad assault on those with right wing beliefs by powerful institutions (govt agencies, big tech, the "cabal" Time magazine wrote about) was similar to the persecution the Nazis waged against jews before Kristallnacht, and obviously before the concentration camps. I saw the parallels, but I read history and don't live inside the twitter bubble.

reply

She said it was like the holocaust.

Not having access to a twitter account is nothing like the Nazi persecution of the Jews. You're a fucking cunt if you think it is.

reply

Again, she was speaking in the broader context, not just about Twitter, and no, she didn't compare it to the Holocaust. This is what she said verbatim:

""Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors ... even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views,"

In my opinion, it is a perfectly apt comparison and I am appalled that Disney fired her for it. It is moments like this that remind me why I stopped teaching.

reply

It's in response to receiving criticism of the political views she expresses online, and the negative public reaction to the republican party's cowardice regarding the murder of innocent people by republican insurrectionists at the capitol attending a Trump rally which she turns into imaginary persecution in the streets of anyone who is a republican.

reply

Oh yeah I forgot only the chosen can say that word.

She's fucked.

reply

Only people who have actually been tortured and exterminated for their race can claim to have had that experience. And not a bunch of butt hurt whining maggots who lost and election that their new daddy said they won because that's what he has done every time in his entire life and are upset that everyone else is laughing at them for being whining butt hurt maggots.

reply

She was describing how in Nazi Germany neighbors and even children would rat out other neighbors or family members to the Gestapo.

Look at what happened after Jan 6. Neighbors and even family members ratted out people who merely attended the Trump rally. Bank of America gave account info to the FBI of anyone who had purchased anything in or around D.C. NONE of that happens for BLM or AntiFA

And yes social media has been deplatforming anyone who doesn't share the left's views.

These are all facts no matter how much you try to justify it you're on the side of the Nazis

reply

There was a violent insurrection at the capitol where police were murdered for trying to protect the system of democracy the US is based on. The information being offered by members of the public and being sought by the police isn't about those people's beliefs. It's about assisting a murder investigation.

If a bunch of Nazis have a rally and then kill people at the end of it and you don't provide information you have that might help the police apprehend the killers just because you're afraid of appearing to "persecute" nazis, then you're on the side of the Nazis.

reply

There's been violence for the past year because of BLM and AntiFA. They both attacked a federal court house for over 100 days in Portland, Oregon. They also took over 6 blocks in Seattle where people died, were robbed and assaulted. All of which was cheered on by the mainstream media and Democrat elected officials. So don't give me that insurrection bullshit.

You all call anyone to the right of Mao a Nazi yet you don't look at what YOU all do. And yes calling someone a Nazi as an excuse to deperson them is in actuality a Nazi tactic. Good Job Adolf

reply

Ah. Deflection. Congrats.

reply

No deflection. You presented an argument as did I. Certainly even your small brain can see how the two are related.

By the way you crying over a policeman when your side says ACAB and Fry Piggy Fry is hysterical

reply

No you didn't. Whataboutery is not an argument.

My side? Get a grip.

Whatever side you imagine i'm on, there's one thing for certain. Your side lost. Buh-bye now.

reply

LOL so when we bring up the violence your side has committed for years in the name of BLM it's whataboutism

Your hilarious

And yeah I can tell from your language what side you're on and it's not mine. So do run along now back to your safe space cupcake and fuck yourself

reply

she fucked up. NEVER cross the Jews if your job is on Hollywood

reply

I don't believe that's the issue. Her intent was to play up her own suffering, not minimize that of the Jews. People are only pretending to be outraged.

reply

She didn't cross "the Jews" - at least not me. She said nothing offensive, and I'm the son of a holocaust survivor.
If you really think what's going on isn't reminiscent of the 1930s, you're not paying attention.
