Pro-Trump ‘Shazam’ star to Musk: People who voted for Trump are losing their jobs
Actor Zachary Levi is appealing to Elon Musk to not “let everybody fall through the cracks” amid the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) cuts to the federal workforce, with the “Shazam” actor saying there are “people that voted for Donald Trump who are losing their job.”
“I’m so grateful that the election went the way that it did, and specifically because people like [Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.] and [director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard] are now in there, and confirmed, and can do the work,” Levi, who supported Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, said Monday on Fox News’s “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
“DOGE is complicated,” Levi continued of the sweeping cost-cutting efforts led by tech billionaire Musk.
“There are a lot of people that are very afraid right now, because there are truly good, working people that work for the government that are getting lost in the cracks. And we have got to do something about that,” the 44-year-old “Unbreakable Boy” producer and star said.
“Please, Elon and all of your team and whatever needs to happen, please don’t let everybody fall through the cracks, as we are doing what is necessary, which is to get in there and cut a cancer out,” Levi told Watters.
He likened the cuts by DOGE to cancer patients undergoing surgery, saying, “You lose some good healthy tissue along with that. [Doctors] don’t want to do that, but it’s a part of extracting that darkness out of there. And right now, that’s what’s happening.”
DOGE, which is facing multiple lawsuits related to its efforts, said in a post on its website this week that it has found $55 billion in savings. In an executive order signed last week, Trump directed federal agencies to prepare for “large-scale reductions in force” and instructed DOGE personnel to develop new hiring plans.
“There are good people, people that voted for Donald Trump, who are losing their job,” Levi said.
