What’s his endgame?

What is he trying to achieve? He’s gone from being seen as aspirational to almost universally hated.

He was already the richest person on the planet so it isn’t money.

He was well liked and dating film stars so it’s not popularity.

Power? But he’s not US born so can never be a US president.

To shape the world as he thinks best? Surely that would be easier if people like you?

What does he want?

reply

Power? But he’s not US born so can never be a US president.

Do you really think that it's the president who actually has the power? Why would someone need to be president when they are really pulling the strings?

reply

Good point.

reply

Universally hated? He's more admired than ever. More than any other person-- even more than Trump-- he has saved America, and by extension, the world, from fascism.

It seems clear that he's doing what he's doing because it's the right thing to do. The state had taken over the media, and was feeding the people lies. No one was standing up to them, and they threatened to censor and imprison anyone who dared speak truth to power. He called their bluff, and had the financial resources and fortitude to stand up to the subsequent onslaught.

I don't know what circles you travel in, but Musk and Trump are regarded as heroes around the world now.

reply

Maybe in parts of the US, but Trump and Elon pretty much hated everywhere else. No one could believe that Americans could be dumb enough to vote for Trump again.

reply

Get out of your bubble. The world is celebrating.

reply

Ok, show me some big name news sites from outside the US posting positive articles about the result. Should be easy to find?

reply

Most major news sites (also internationally) are left leaning.

reply

Not all. The Telegraph and The Times in the UK are right wing and well regarded. I’m sure other countries have similar.

reply

You have been utterly brainwashed by the mainstream media.

The fact that you consider ‘big name news sites’ any source of truth, accuracy or legitimacy reveals the extent of your indoctrination.

Wake up.

reply

Which news sites do you follow then?

reply

None

reply

Where do you get your news then?

reply

Either directly from the public who will now upload current events online, or from proven honest brokers of information (none of whom can be found in the mainstream media anymore which is now just propaganda)

reply

How do you know they are accurate and unbiased?

reply

Time plus healthy skepticism. The same way you learn to trust someone in real life.

reply

This is what happens when you ask MAGA for evidence.

reply

What's stopping you from doing your own homework?

reply

Utterly stupid response. What makes you think I haven't. MAGA trying to pass the buck yet AGAIN.

reply

You are screaming for EVIDENCE!! But at the same time boasting about doing your own homework. Which one is it?

When someone has an opinion that differs from my own I generally understand why they think like that. Screaming SHOW ME THE EVIDENCE!!! wouldn't be necessary.

reply

from sosialism, isn't it?

reply

to be the greatest african american to have ever lived.

reply

To board an Alien ship for sure.

Or WORSE:

To resume flight controls and off it goes.

reply

Wait...Gates is born in the US. So who are you talking about?

reply

Elon Musk…

reply

You know that every point - maybe except the celebrities thing - is valid for Bill Gates too, don't you? So that's maybe where money and envy of people leads you to?

reply

He wants more free speech, destroy the woke culture that ruined his son and less bureaucracy for space travel.

reply

Just happened to watch a live telecast of his Space X rocket making what some commentators were describing as "a perfect landing" in the Indian Ocean. Why is it so hard to believe that the guy is a true visionary with benign motives for mankind?

reply

Elon is only ‘hated’ by the insane Left cult, the rest of the world loves him.

Stay off MSNBC.

reply

I’ve never been on MSNBC in my life. I don’t even know what that is.

Show me proof the world loves him.

reply

Ask anyone not brainwashed by the mainstream media.

reply

Still waiting for proof.

reply

Go and ask them and you will no longer be waiting 🤷🏻‍♂️

reply

Well I'm part of the world and I don't love him and don't know anyone that does....

reply

That just means that you, and the echo chamber you inhabit, have been brainwashed by the mainstream media.

reply

And yet you still can't provide proof the world loves him.

reply

Ask anyone not brainwashed by the mainstream media 🤷🏻‍♂️

reply

Have you ever actually listened to Elon speak or paid attention to his companies? As unbelievable as it may sound to you, the guy wants to help improve humanity - trying to reach more sustainable energy goals with Tesla, help disabled people regain function with Neuralink, bring fast internet to even the most remote areas with Starlink, ensure freedom of speech online with X, and make life multiplanetary with SpaceX (which is probably his main goal - https://youtu.be/H7Uyfqi_TE8?t=2758).

He's continually put much of his personal wealth on the line, going way back to when he first acquired some with Zip2/Paypal, to try and make these things a reality. It's really not that complicated.

reply

Why is he siding with Donald “grab ‘em by the pussy” Trump then?

reply

Because the current Democratic administration has not only shown that they don't care about his goals, they've committed lawfare against his companies and are an active hindrance to them. From being ridiculously snubbed at the EV summit by Biden, to having the DOJ sue SpaceX for totally illogical and contrary reasons, to having the FAA continually delay Starship launches, etc.

This isn't even factoring in other aspects like some leftists calling for his arrest for making X a more free-speech-based platform, under the malicious guise of spreading "misinformation" and "hate speech". Trump has shown an interest in space and will be attending the IFT-6 Starship launch later today. He also didn't run on a platform for censorship.

With Trump, there's more of an alignment in ideals and a clear path forward for his goals. With the left, there's nothing but extreme contempt and roadblocks for daring to be successful/not buying into whatever nonsense they're currently peddling.
