Bluesky Might End Up Defeating Twitter Once and for All

Bluesky has the edge where Twitter once dominated: news and live events.

Very typical democrat strategy, the same strategy used by democrats on Harris, hyping it up, make it look like a real challenger.

reply

You mean like "Threads" did?

reply

Exactly. I've seen some posts from there. Lots of hate. Poor things are just over there festering.

reply

Yeah. 'Cuz people all do what celebrities tell them to. That worked out real well for Kamala, didn't it? 😂

reply

Hopefully, Bluesky does what Twitter did and declares opposing opinions as fake news and cancels them, even if those opposing opinions are right. Face it, it's not easy being a celebrity and having your opinions questioned or even corrected publicly.

And also hopefully, Musk won't buy Bluesky as well and turn it into a even handed platform like X.

Just wanted to stress the excellence of this post.

You flatter me.

Woke people claim for their right to be censored. For sure a disgusting secret sauce... 🤔

Celebrities who have left X for BlueSky, from Stephen King to Lizzo

https://www.datalounge.com/thread/34994847-celebrities-who-have-left-x-for-bluesky-from-stephen-king-to-lizzo

Bluesky, the microblogging platform backed by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, has been attracting attention as more high-profile users leave X.

The platform gained more than 700,000 new users in the week following president-elect Donald Trump’s election victory in the US.

Here’s a look at some of the other famous faces now active on Bluesky.

What happened to Threads? What happened to Mastodon? You left wingers are so predictable and stupid. Same childish behavior year after year.

Blue sky is just another in a long list of leftist echo chambers, where you get banned for wrong-think immediately. Go against the group, you get reported, and banned within minutes. What a place, hey TMC-4 why don't you migrate over there and spare us your pathetic spam posts here at Movie Chat once and for all?

reply

And what, Twitter or whatever the hell it's called now isn't within itself, a far-right wing echo chamber under Elon Musk, especially post-Election Day 2024? And you can't be serious that on Elon's site now, you can't also get banned for wrong-think immediately. I mean Stephen King claims that he got in trouble with Elon Musk for joking about him being the real First Lady for Donald Trump.

reply

Elon Musk's social media site is literally invested with bots, gross misinformation, and unmoderated hate speech and yet those who dare to complain about it and point it out are the ones who are displaying childish behavior!? We're talking about a man who told advertisers who tried to boycott him to "go fuck themselves" after he was caught making antisemitic and conspiratorial posts on his platform.

reply

I agree with you, but I don't think fleeing to a leftist echo chamber will solve the problem. There doesn't seem to be a way for people with differing opinions to co-exist anymore, it appears to inevitably lead to a desire to split into separate echo chambers with their own insular, increasingly extreme views. Twitter's a right-wing echo chamber and Bluesky will likely become a left-wing echo chamber, if it hasn't already, thanks to the suppression of right-wing views.

reply

Can you cite any specific examples of the gross misinformation or hate speech? That was a rhetorical question ofc as you definitely can't and won't post any specific examples.

Here are some examples:

reply

No those are all just more accusations of hate speech and, much like you, they lack any specific examples and are more vague attempts at smearing. There's not a single cited example in the entire list. Nice try though.

The great thing about Twitter is the Community Notes. If someone likes or retweets something that isn't true, folks can flag it, and the Community Notes people investigate it and we all get to see the truth, with links to credible sources.

This works for conservative tweets as well as liberal tweets. Folks saying it's just a "right-wing echo chamber" obviously don't spend much time on it. In fact, a lot of people are complaining that the "For You" feed has a lot of liberals we've never heard of and certainly would never follow on it. The "Following" feed IS made up of folks we follow. But frankly, I spend more time on the "For You" feed, because it's more varied and interesting.

So it's only a right- or left-wing echo chamber on Twitter/X if you want it to be. What's odd is that the liberals could have a liberal echo chamber with the "Following" feed, but apparently the liberals don't like that conservatives even exist on Twitter.

reply

I was trying to remember Mastodon's name. It was supposed to be the hot alternative to X. Same thing happened to it that's happening to Bluesky -- it became a magnet for "minor-attracted persons."

I hope TMC-4 is getting paid for shilling like this....

reply

Bluesky censors its users, making it a no-go for anyone who cares about freedom. It won't last any longer than Threads or whatever that other one was.

reply

You can use alternate host servers.

reply

The point isn't accessing the site or creating a new account, the point is not wanting to participate in a site that censors content. Freedom of speech should be absolute. Bluesky will be like the old Twitter, a one-sided echo chamber where no idea is challenged, no matter how crazy, as long as it skews far left.

reply

The more celebrities and other woke 'tards leaving X, the better.
