So it turns out you can in fact become leader of the Labour Party without giving 'blanket support' for any military action by Israel. Who'd have guessed it?
Furthermore, the UK's foreign policy objectives towards Israel haven't changed in many decades, regardless of which party is in power. In much the same way that other nation's core foreign policy objectives don't flip-flop either. Perceived national interests and security are probably the least partisan and least changeable policy areas of any nation-state.
