Jonah Hill To Quit Acting To Protect Mental Health!

Good for him! He hates being a public figure and the public facing events which pursuing a Hollywood career obviously brings.

But now he has seen the light and is going to have nothing further to do with the industry to ensure his future mental health wellbeing. Clearly a guy of true moral substance...

reply

Oh no. Who is going to play all of the fat retards now?

reply

Dude...

reply

the OG fat retard, Seth Rogen

reply

He's not quitting acting, he's just not doing promotional events anymore.

reply

Wow - I genuinely misread that!

So he wants to continue being a film star and getting paid millions and thus being a public figure, he just doesn't want to do the promo tours? Because that will protect his mental health? 😂

Well played Jonah Hill! To an extent that's even more impressive than what I'd originally thought... From a certain point of view

I suspect that studios will be able to get some limited promo work from him if it can be done in a manner that doesn't trigger his anxiety, like interviews with writers he may know well and is comfortable being around and who will respect whatever time, place and topic restrictions are necessary.

What a convenient problem for an actor to develop.

"Mental Health problems" is just new fancy trend for Hollywood people. Becoming bi and trans is so last year. Even "they/them" is losing its popularity it seems. MeToo died down 3 years ago.

So they created new circle of victimhood - Mental Health. Whenever you dont like to do promo work - just say you have Mental Health problems and studios cant make you to promote things. Many more celebrities will follow.

And honestly - Im surprised it took Hollywood people that long to revolt about that "promotion duties". Not every person can give interviews and talk for hours about some nonsense. I could not if I would be forced. Not every celebrity is narcissist that cant live without attention. Some just want to act in movies, get their money and be done.

Yet every time project comes up - studios send actors to endless promotion tour. They send them to 10 interviews a day where they have to sit and answering to boring questions. And when its blockbuster then its even worse. They have to go to those Fallon, Kimmel, Ellen and other talk shows. They have to sit there for 20 minutes and try to be funny and have to bring their own stories so that host can talk about.

Im not surprised some of them snap and dont want to do that. Some celebs are narcissist and love it. Some just hate it. There should be less promotion. And not many people even care about those endless interviews and what celebrity will say. Hollywood press care. But it not what making people to go and see movie.

I, for one, never watch interviews, dont care who the actors are, or what they are doing... I prefer to see them act in a film and that's it. I guess I avoid hero worship. they are people, do a great job acting, telling the story, and that's it. no need to hear they blathering on about anything.

I can respect an actor not wanting to do tedious promo interviews, but at least be honest about it. This ‘protect mental health’ excuse is weak, pathetic and obvious BS.

Hill loses points for this.

thank god!
