She definitely deserves a mention for it that's for sure.

Looking at the films she's done, she's knocked up quite a C.V at just 34 years of age. Drive, Wildlife, An Education, Far from The Madding Crowd, Shame, Never Let Me Go, Suffragette, Mudbound, Inside Llewyn Davis. I'm not a big fan of Great Gatsby, Wall Street sequel, Brothers (she's excellent in it but the film isn't great compared to Danish version)

She's yet to do a role for me, that is really Oscar winning worthy. Some might disagree with that. I thought her performance in Shame was possibly the closet she's done one.

Jessica Chastin, Saoirse Ronan, Alicia Vikander would probably challenge Mulligan for that spot. Rooney Mara is very good but is very hit and miss imo. Emma Stone, many would disagree with me but is a fine young actress but I don't see her as a actress of a generation. Natalie Portman could be in the list for that discussion but she can be awesome in one thing then look bang average in something else. Felicity Jones, has a bit of the Mulligan's about her, but again she's far more miss then hit then Mulligan is. Elizabeth Olsen had a ton of potential but seemed to piss it away starring in blockbusters. One to watch out for right now that could challenge Mulligan and other 3 i mentioned could be Florence Pugh. She's been knocking it out of the park recently and is only 23. If she continues on the way she is could be in for been a actress of her generation.

I think she's a great actress, but I think she will always have a special place in my heart for playing Sally Sparrow.

She's definitely a top actress, and deserves a mention when it comes to Actress of her generation. Dr Who role put her on the map seen as it's considered one of the greatest episodes.
