I hate to admit it because I used to love them as a kid, but other than Richie Sambora's guitar playing, they don't hold up at all.

You used to love them as a kid because they were popular. When I was younger I used to like Limp Bizkit even though I knew at the time their music wasn't timeless. Even Fred Durst admitted it.

Bon Jovi & Limp Biscuit were like Hard Speed Metal compared to the shit I had to listen to in the 90s , thanks to UK TV & radio output

Bon Jovi could write a hook as well as just about anyone back in the 80s and 90s. Sambora is a fine guitarist and Jon used to have a great rock voice.

They were hardly profound and they refused to experiment or challenge themselves, but Bon Jovi delivered their share of 3-4 minute bangers over the years.
