she got too fat to look hot in bondage gear anymore, thats what offends me!

reply

I'm not a religious man but good on them for banning it.

I doubt Demi would be so willing to make a sexually charged album with Islamic, Jewish or Buddhist symbols. She would face a backlash for being intolerant.

Christianity is fair game for people unfortunately. One rule for all I say if you wouldn't do it with other religions don't do it with Christianity.

reply

looks very tame to me.

reply

I am a Christian and I don't find it offensive. I don't think it should have been banned.

reply

Screw the Christians! They've had it their own way long enough, time for them to find out what it's like to have to shut up and put up with being offended.

Because that's what they've been putting others through for the last 2000 years.

reply

I'm a Christian and it didn't offend me.

reply

you're talking about christians when you say they and them, right? i thought you were talking about lovato at first.

reply

Yes. I'm bashing Christians.

I may take a chance to bash nonbinaries one of these days for expecting everyone to mangle their grammar because only their feewings matter, but I have a bit of a soft spot for them.

reply

Seems like an overreaction.

Perhaps I'm cynical, but I can't help but believe that the company behind the advertising campaign were fully aware that they were breaching Advertising Standard Authority rules (which are well known to people who work in the advertising industry. It's their livelihood, after all.)

They've generated headlines, social media engagement and discussion with six short-lived posters. Much cheaper publicity than rolling the campaign out nationwide and probably more effective too. So I'd suggest they achieved precisely what they set out to achieve.

It's "Like a Prayer" all over again. Doubt she'll get the same results Madonna did back then....

reply

i remember that controversy. a lot of free press for madonna.

reply

I kinda like the image. Wish she had something other than the dyke haircut. But I don't see the poster as offensive to the point it should be banned. It's pretty mild, and should just be ignored by anyone who has a problem with that. People need to practice the skill of ignoring things. Good for the blood pressure.
