shareI don't hold romantic notions of why we are the most powerful country in the world. The propaganda tells us that we're the beacon of freedom and democracy but clearly as a nation we have sponsored military coups that overthrew democratically elected governments that didn't bow to US interests. We used the "commie" card for most of these, but it wasn't because we cared so much about the civilians in those countries it was to further the economic interests of elites.
