You are not peacefully protesting when you join and mob and chase down someone to attack them. They chased him 4 blocks from the car dealership, yelling get him. When he fell, one of them swung a skateboard at his head, and missed while he was on the ground, and got shot, the other pulled his own gun, and got shot.
You should probably go and watch the videos, because everything that you are saying is wrong. He didn't shoot them because they were rioting, he shot them to defend himself. And yes the police would've shot people if they were threatened the same way, they do it all time, it's literally the reason that they were there protesting.
The reason he, and others like him, were there was because the cops were not doing anything. The owner of the used car lot asked him for help, and he gave it. He spent the day cleaning up graffiti, then came to the car lot at night to help them protect themselves from vandals and looters.
He also didn't randomly wander off the lot with a gun and provoke violence. Someone lit the contents of a dumpster on fire and rolled it towards the lot. While Rittenhouse was putting out the fire, protesters started attacking him, and he ran. It was only after one of the people chasing him fired a shot at him that Rittenhouse turned around and defended himself.
I think a more accurate admonition is, "Kids, stay home and do your homework, but prepare yourselves to bear arms and protect your community if the time comes where the police can't, or won't, defend it for you."

They had no right to assume he was a mass shooter, because he wasn't there firing indescriminately at people. He was just there with a gun, as were a lot of people.
But lets explore that for a second. If you and your group of hoodlums are walking around town looking to commit a crime, and see someone that "looks like a mass shooter" wouldn't it be a good idea to avoid place, and destroy something else? Or do you do it anyway, and when you get confronted by this person that you are convinced is just there to shoot people, do you back off? Or do you get aggressive, and attack him? He didn't get shot for throwing a plastic bag, he got shot because he grabbed the gun and tried to take it away from Rittenhouse. It amazing how people will lie about facts. He was staying in town with one of his best friends who did live there. He was voluntarily helping to clean up the community, he's one camera days before helping to paint over graffiti on a school. During this service he met the owner of the car lot, who asked him to watch over the property, so he did. He went there with a med kit, and attempt to help people that were hurt during the rioting.

The weapons charges were dropped because they didn't have a case. Why else would they drop them? There was no deal, they were trying to get it from everything that they could. You are most likely repeating the talking points of some stupid people. The point that he was dropped off by his mother, and he crossed state lines are both lies. The gun was bought by his friend in Kenosha, and kept in that same house. The point that he was too young for open carry is also a lie. It was all legal.
