Not a Catholic but the ones I know can't stand him. Marxist is the way I've heard him described. Several have left the church because of him.
I don't know however how the dynamics of insulting the pope (didn't see the quote if she did) will affect Catholics, although it might affect a larger percentage of Latin Catholics.
I think the Pope has FAR MORE say on what is and isn't Catholic than anyone else. If 'Catholics' can't respect the Pope, maybe they ain't actually Catholics.

I didn't know that she was raised Catholic (in her own words, a "Cradle Catholic.")
She only left the Catholic Church when she had her own children? She couldn't trust the clergy based on the incidents of child molestation? I'm not going to argue with that sentiment, I agree with her on that, but that's not news - this has been widely reported at least since the 1980's.
She was born in 1974, she married in 1995, her three kids were adults in December 2022 (or earlier), so the youngest was born December 2004 (or earlier) and the oldest was born... 2002?
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸
@RepMTG
With great sorrow, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, I stopped attending Catholic Mass when I became a mother, because I realized that I could not trust the Church leadership to protect my children from pedophiles, and that they harbored monsters even in their own ranks. 4/

Her husband first filed for divorce in September [year?], saying their marriage was "irretrievably broken." Greene has finalized her divorce with her now ex-husband, Perry Greene [December 2022.](I don't think anyone anywhere can finalize a divorce in 15 months, assuming Perry filed in September 2021... especially with the couple's large assets... but I don't know all the facts...)
It was the couples' second time filing for divorce: as The Atlantic reported in December [2022], Greene previously filed for divorce in July 2012 after alleged affairs she had with two men who worked at the Crossfit gym where she trained. The couple later reconciled.
I'm guessing she's not going to try to get an annulment from the Catholic Church...
She stopped going to Mass in 2002 (or earlier.) When did she join her Protestant church?
"Greene previously filed for divorce in July 2012 after alleged affairs she had with two men who worked at the Crossfit gym where she trained."
Slut.
I thought that information was odd. California is no-fault divorce. I suppose in Georgia you have to give "reasons" for divorcing. Or word just got around.
shareCatholics are virtually cult members, so being part of the MAGA Cult should be par for the course.
shareI think you're being a wee bit paranoid.
I've worked with, been business partners with, and have many friends who are Catholic, and a better group of people you won't find.
Their worship services are boring as all get out (I was raised Baptist but no longer follow), but when there are people in need, they're always first to help in our community.
Cult is the very last way I would describe them.
It doesn't matter if they are "good people." They are following a religion made up by a bunch of white men to try to take over Christianity, trying to chip together some chronology that ties Jesus to Peter to whatever guy they gave the title of "Pope" to. And now, like any other religious practitioner, they follow that human that is talking to them far more than Christ, Mohammed, Moses or whomever.
Most humans can't even begin to wrap their minds around the concept of God, so they just follow the human talking about it. Following a random human who has been installed at that pulpit, plus all the practices like crossing yourself, rubbing your prayer beads, etc. does in fact skew any religion towards cult status.
I think your definition of cult is different than mine, and pretty much everyone else for that matter.
Looks like he's one of those oh-so-pleased-with-themselves atheists who like to take the piss out of believers and are an embarrassment to the rest of us atheists.
Hey, I'm fine with the religious types as long as they don't proselytize to me. The ones I do know who are religious don't. They go to work, raise their families, pay their taxes, and go to church. Some of them are our dear friends.
Ha! Okay, but not great troll attempt. Which I am sure is par for you. I am a Christian and follow the Four Gospels to follow Christ, not someone is a Trump-like Cathedral in a fancy dress telling me his version of things. There is a reason why there are double the number of Protestants over the number of Catholics. You're just a atheist because you think the Universe magically winked itself into existence, and so, of course, you can treat people like dirt and not have to answer for it. Or so you think.
