Producer suing her for accusing Aaron Eckhart of unprofessional behavior

This should get interesting.

The Bulgarian producer of an espionage thriller sued Abigail Breslin, one of the film’s stars, on Friday, alleging that her “hysterical” and “imaginary” allegations against co-star Aaron Eckhart have imperiled the film’s release.

It doesn't help her case that Aaron Eckhart is one of those actors who just doesn't seem to court controversy like that. He always seemed like a good bloke.

reply

Exactly.

They worked together in 2007 on No Reservations when she was a kid, yet she's never spoken on his unprofessional behaviour until now? So is this new or did she agree to work with someone she doesn't get along with? It's interesting.

reply

I really don't know what to say about this. This was during the "me too" movement, when it seemed every woman in Hollywood was crying "wolf." My advice to them is, don't cry "wolf", unless you actually see a wolf. Don't ruin some guy just because you want the attention. Johnny Depp had to spend millions clearing his name of false allegations. Most of us don't have bank accounts that deep.

reply

That’s why they accuse, hoping you’ll settle fast to avoid going to court.

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives and attorneys for Eckhart for comment.

According to the lawsuit, the "entire production almost ground to a halt when Breslin advised the production of Eckhart's of (sic) aggressive, demeaning, and unprofessional behavior which she insisted placed her at various times in peril. ( serious and immediate danger, rape )

The producers of an upcoming film are suing Abigail Breslin after she accused co-star Aaron Eckhart of "demeaning" behavior on set.

The lawsuit, filed Nov. 3 by Dream Team Studios and WM Holdings, claims Breslin, 27, caused the producers of "Classified" to spend $80,000 in accommodations after her "hysterical" allegations against Eckhart, 55.

The filing reveals that Breslin privately wrote a letter to the Screen Actors Guild about Eckhart's behavior. The producers are suing Breslin for breach of contract.

The lawsuit alleges the "Stillwater" actress refused to be alone in scenes with Eckhart, or else she "would not continue to perform her contractual obligations."

Anything happen with this? I see Abigail popping up today, trying to ride on the Blake Lively wave. A smarter thing for her to do would have been just to finish the movie and not work with him again if she didn't like him. But her accusations seem so vague. I don't buy that she was actually in any peril, give me a break. If that's the case, you go to the police. Otherwise, be a big girl, get through it and move on. If you're going to bring a production to a halt, you'd better have good reason and some proof.

reply

yes, go to police. this SOCIAL justice bullshit, over REAL justice has got to stop.

now, you can ALLEGE things and destroy people with zero proof. that is NOT justice and has got to stop.

It's no better than WITCH HUNTS again. in 2000+ Insane. Stupid.

reply

She didn't go public though. Not until the production sued her. So.....?

Also, not all bad behaviour is criminal, so why would she go to the police? For whatever reason, she didn't feel safe. She went to HR, not the papers.

Did you feel the same way about Damon Wayans accusations against Clayne Crawford on Lethal Weapon, or should he have just shut up and gone to the police instead?

reply

i dont watch any news...
dont know anything about Wayans or anything...

I just know social JUSTICE is NOT Justice. it's pointless bullshit

Why is the production SUING her? WHy did they feel the need to make it legal? Was she slandering or something?
Seems one side felt it was a LEGAL issue.

I dont know, I dont want to know, nor care. I just know social justice is bullshit witch hunts, nothing more.

reply

She was sued for breach of contract, and it was withdrawn. From what I've read, she didn't feel safe with him, (nothing sexual just aggression) and asked for accommodations which cost the production money. She also made a confidential complaint to SAG about him. So where was she seeking social justice?

reply

i dont ever feel SAFE on any high way I ever drive on.

SAFE SPACE!!! I NEED MY SAFE SPACE!!!

sounds like it was a private matter, now public. witch hunt.

reply

Which wouldn't have been made public if the production company hadn't dismissed her concerns, and then sued her.

reply

they took it legal... .not witch hunt. hmmmmm i wonder why? because of LAW, not social justice

reply

Yeah....so I'm just really curious as to why you see a witch hunt here.

reply

i should have stayed out of this. I hate social lynchings.

read all the previous posts above.... ALL of which are just OUR speculations of things we know nothing about. just hearsay and unresearched articles.

I got drawn in trying to use this as an example of exactly that stuff: people assuming and speculating, knowing nothing. like witch hunts: all based on assuming, speculation and heresay.

we dont have the facts, we make up things that could fit (self included, I dont know any of this) and it all helps no one.

reply

Exactly. That was the point I was trying to make. We don't know what happened. She didn't even go public. She went to what was essentially HR for her. She didn't take to social media. When her claims were dismissed, she wrote an anonymous letter to her union. She was sued for breach of contract. So in this case, even if she had quit, she would have been sued for breach of contract. Now the comments on here are pretty much a witch hunt against her.

The fact is, we don't know what happened. But if this doesn't at least shed a little bit of light as to why people, and yes, I am saying people not just women, don't report a lot of this stuff? The press gets a hold of something you are trying to deal with privately and suddenly everyone's lives are ruined.

reply

yup, I fell into piggy backing and didn't catch myself while trying to preach about exactly that. is that like breaking the fifth wall????

Anywho, I still think ALL Social Justice is just witch hunts should never exist in 2025, and things should be resolved LEGALLY if needed, not via internet smear campaignes. Lets leave things to REAL justice, not mob mentality justice

reply

Let's hope the real justice and the system can be less corrupt.
