Without a shadow of doubt, matching C.V's Elle has the better film career so far compared to Dakota. Even though both are still young and it could change but Elle has had the better performances and films so far imo.

I love even at 20 how Elle mixes commercial films with work in the indies, and more so then not gets the right balance. Not everything works for her but that happens with any acting talent.

But she's got some fantastic to good films so far this early into her career. Super 8, the Neon Demon, Galveston, 20th Century Women, The Beguiled, We Bought A Zoo, The Curious Case of Bejamin Button, Live by Night,Babel, Trumbo, Reservation Road, The Box Trolls, The Vanishing of Sidney Hall, Somewhere, Maleficent and Ginger and Rosa. She's also in I Am Sam with her sister so that counts lol. At age 20 that's not a bad run so far.

Not everything has been a success, stuff like How To Talk to Girl At Parties, 3 Generations, Twixt, Young Ones and Daddy Day Care just didn't work I can understand the first four she was working with talented casts or directors in those films and it just didn't click. But that's not a bad run at all.

Not too mention Elle looks like a high fashion model and could be another Kiera Knightly in doing both professions. Yeah, Dakota never was what Elle became. Not that Dakota didn't have talent.

Elle definitely has the more unique look and you could easily see her in Vogue and other high class fashion magazines to go along with her acting talent. I just don't think Dakota took as many risks with her career, she played it safe quite a lot and her sister has work with up and coming directors, cool indie directors and done work has demanded a lot from her. She's also keep a toe in the blockbusters but not as many someone as any actress her age would usually do. Sure as I said nothing everything worked, but at least she takes the risks to challenge herself.

Sorta. I mean she's definitely a more enjoyable and more bankable movie star. But she'll never top Dakota's adorable kid work. Her role in War of the World will probably be bigger than anything Elle ever does.
