Renewed (Lost Girl Spoilers)

Showcase just announced Lost Girl has been renewed for a 5th season, which is great news. Ksenia Solo wasn't included in the returning cast. This probably means nothing, just to try and build some suspense. I do wonder however if she is taking some time off from the show to make a certain movie? Do you think this is plausible? or just I way off base?

I'm not a fan of Lost Girl(I have nothing against it, it's just not my thing), but I am a huge fan of Ksenia. Unfortunately for fans of Lost Girl, if the rumors about Ksenia being the female lead for the new Star Wars trilogy are true(and it's starting to look like they are), I really doubt she'll be coming back. If she does, it'll only be as a guest star.

Season five of Lost Girl and Star Wars Episode VII both begin filming right around the same time. I'm not sure how long principal photography takes for a season of Lost Girl, but Episode VII is scheduled to film for six months(and it films in the U.K.). On top of that, if she is in the new Star Wars films, she's going to be in all of them. That means very little free time to do any television shows.

If she's not going to be in Star Wars, then yeah, she'll probably be back.

Ha, your the same guy who replied to me in the other thread. As a Lost Girl, Star Wars, and Ksenia fan I really can't lose here. I look forward to both.

If there is a loser in all this it would be Lost Girl. I can't imagine how badly it will throw the show without Kenzi's one-liners, general bad-assedness, and loyalty. I don't see the show surviving without it.

What? The first rule about Clone Club is we don't talk about Clone Club?

Wouldn't it be listed on her resume as "in production" if she was cast in the new Star Wars film?

reply

I was being purposely upbeat with my previous post. I definitely agree with Lost Girl being a loser if things go down that way. I'm not sure how much life that show has left in it, but no Kenzi for an extended period would probably kill it, she is the show's best character.

No cast members have been announced for the film, so not yet. Casting announcements are expected to be made starting in the next month or so. Darthmuppet seems to think she will be in the film, I'm not so certain.

Right. I would also add that actors also leave existing shows just for the chance of landing a role in a movie or breaking into movies. So that's a possibility as well. It's possible that she left hoping to get the role and that maybe if she doesn't land it that she would return to the show.

Very true, which I'm sure the Lost Girl producers are thrilled with.
