He is creative, sure. I just watched 3 from Hell and maaaaaaaaan did it suck. Don't get me wrong, I am a die-hard fan of Corpses and Rejects, but he needs to stop. This movie shouldn't have been made. Weak script, gratuitous profanity (really got sick of the word mf-er), rehashing the same old stuff. Baby's character was really, really stupid. Bill was great of course, but had very little to work with. It had a couple good moments, but overall, I think he's lost it.

I would say that Rob Zombie is definitely unique, but not necessarily creative. I say this because his movies are like his music. He basically just re-hashes the same things over and over. If you have heard one Rob Zombie song, then you have pretty much heard them all. I feel almost the same way with his movies, although not quite as much as I do with his music. Just my opinion.

I personally think he just needs to direct. No more writing his own movies. That's where he goes wrong. I think he delivers some pretty powerful images and beautiful shots, they just exist in terrible stories filled with over the top hillbilly nonsense.

He's a one-trick pony. If you've seen one RZ film, you've seen them all.

A director's only job is to deliver films on time and under budget. Anything else is subjective and meaningless.

Does he only direct his own material? Most directors in the genre don't write.
