Chinese Reporters love to hate her, Audience love her.

It's strange some Chinese reporters and people are still so poor mentally even in these new millennium.

In the past Chinese from the mainland are always jeolous and hate any of their actresses or singers who went overseas.

The first Chinese actress they hated is Joan Chen when she went to Hollywood. After that, they hated Gong Li when she went to Venice and Cannes, and when her movies(by her ex-bf) got Oscar nominated. Now they hated Zhang Ziyi.
More recently, Tang Wei was even banned by the Chinese government for nearly 2 years.

Wonder when these people can really think.

Anyway, the fact that newspapers and reporters got so much news about them(despite the hatred) proved that these newspapers needed them more than they neeed the papers.

The fact that she(Zhang) is still the highest paid Chinese actress today and her last Chinese movie Sophie's Revenge was a box office success in China proved she is the best and the audience want her.

I think audience today have matured enough to appreciate an actress's acting ability and not care about their personal lives.

a responsibility that goes with fame. She has to BE the focus of her fans and enemies alike. Is she doesn't do those things, she can't be famous. I would imagine at the end of the year, she looks at her bank account, looks at her list of accomplishments, looks at her place in history and she has to smile. She's still smack in the middle of a lot of controversy. She hasn't faded away. If anything, life is winding up tighter for her.

The internet exaggerates everything. Generally, I think people approve. There are a few vocal detractors who squawk and whine, and the internet makes them seem more important, but remember, that's all part of the fame-game. In a really funny way, it's all good.

Hopefully one day soon Ziyi will be cast in a film that makes it to American screens and once again we'll get a jolt of her Chinese mojo. Until then we'll have to settle for those grey-market dvds off ebay. I hate to buy them cuz I know she won't make one cent off any of them.

Doesn't matter whether her movies made it to US screens. I know alot of Asian and European great movies that's now shown everywhere.
As long as she still make movies, I will watch it at home if not in the cinema.
What is important is she must know how to select her movies.

If people don't love her or her movies, you think she can still get leading roles ? Will people read her news ?

You may be hating her a lot for some reasons we are not interested to know but I know it's no good for you.

Please wait and see how many new leading roles she will get after this charity scandal. already got kicked out by Snow Flower and The Secret Fan and so many commercials.
