She was great on Laverne & Shirley
shareAnother sad moment for 70s TV fans. Although she deliberately downplayed her looks, Cindy Williams was a very attractive woman as well as a great comedienne. If she had wanted to, I'm sure she could have been one of the glamor girls of the 1970s instead of the wacky girl-next-door type.
shareCan't think of her name now, but that kind of reminds me of the blonde sisters on "The Conners". Without her frumpy makeup she is kind of cute.
shareShe was great in Laverne & Shirley, American Graffiti and in person in Menopause The Musical. RIP Cindy!

shareWow, I'm so sad to see this. Like others have already said, I loved "Laverne And Shirley." She and Penny Marshall made an appearance a few years back on "Sam & Cat" (the series starring Jeannette McCurdy and Arianna Grande)...I think that was the last thing I saw her in. RIP. π’
shareIt's a little eerie that Cindy Williams died at age 75, the same age as her co-star, Penny Marshall.
shareYes...Penny Marshall's death affected me as well. She and Cindy Williams just had such great chemistry together.
I was talking to one of my older sisters and my brother the other night and we were talking about Penny Marshall/Cindy Williams and "Laverne & Shirley." For the most part, besides being funny, it was an "optimistic show." The theme song reflected that...it summed up the show perfectly. Not every episode was perfect and the show had its flaws (especially in the last couple of seasons)...but you usually felt better after watching it. Cindy Williams' passing is just another sad reminder of that era being gone.
I happened to watch several episodes of Laverne & Shirley just last week. Eerie.
You're right about it being an optimistic show, just like Happy Days, and many others of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. These days so many TV shows/movies have such dystopian settings, with nasty characters - they're depressing. I just avoid them. Life is tough enough. No need to have that stuff in my life.
Sad news. Used to love her on L&S. RIP
shareMore sad news. π
Rest in Peace, Ms Williams. πΉ
