This is the FAA

The lawsuit, according to the link, claims racial discrimination, not that less qualified people were hired. It does not claim that the lawsuit had any merit at all.

Why does diversity, equality and inclusion actually mean it is not merit based. Surely you understand that DEI was considered necessary back when inclusion only applied to white males and and hardly else? DEI means that anyone with the qualifications and merit gets to be included in the hiring pool.
Look at who Trump surrounds himself with. The rare non-white or female face does not excuse his racism or sexism. That is why Trump jumped right to DEI as the blame for the accident instead of waiting to find out anything else.
