Early on, no one said anything negative about his qualifications. In fact, one of the first things Bill Clinton said about Trump running was an attack on his campaign slogan "Make American Great Again" calling it "racist" or as he put it, "we know what southerners are thinking when he says this" or something like that. The ironic thing is that Bill used the same slogan himself when he ran. It wasn't his official slogan but he often said it when on the campaign trail.


Nope, I really don't recall anyone going after his qualifications, other than making a few hints towards it. It wasn't until he made a few politically incorrect statements that dems started calling him racist and whatnot. Still, as time went on, qualifications became a bigger issue. But they didn't hit it hard enough in my view. They stuck with "waycist"! every chance they got and no one bought it for the most part.
