Trump wants to keep ‘communists’ and ‘Marxists’ out of the US.

Donald Trump has announced a new campaign proposal on United States immigration — barring “communists” and “Marxists” from entering the country.

The Republican former president, who is making another bid in 2024, on Saturday said he would use “Section 212 (f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act” to “order my government to deny entry to all communists and all Marxists.”

The announcement was reminiscent of Trump’s ban on travelers from several predominantly Muslim countries during his first term, which was heavily criticized as anti-Muslim and ultimately revoked by President Joe Biden.

“Those who come to enjoy our country must love our country,” Trump said during a speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s conference in Washington, adding, “We’re going to keep foreign, Christian-hating communists, Marxists and socialists out of America.”

'course in reality trying to filter out which people have certain ideologies in there head might be easier said than done.
I mean , the existing system of customs officers asking "Are you a commie?" while checking passports is not foolproof.

The INS has been keeping communists out of the USA for decades. It was nothing new back when I applied for a visa so my fiancee could fly to the States in the late 1980's and marry me. No communists allowed.

This has been a thing since 1952. Anyone who brags they are doing something new by using a 70 year old law to keep someone out of the country has a hole in their head. Once again, it seems as if Trump is trying to take credit for something someone else did. In this case it would be president Truman.

Trump is unable to resist calling an old policy something new so he can take credit for it, again. The readers of this forum however, can decide not to believe another thing Trump says that is so stupid.
