Trump and Chinese balloons

https://www.businessinsider.com/conservatives-blame-biden-chinese-spy-balloon-crossed-into-us-trump-2023-2

U.S. officials said Saturday that similar Chinese balloons transited the continental United States briefly at least three times during the Trump administration and once that they know about earlier in the Biden administration. But none of those incidents lasted this length of time.

The GOP makes it clear that when Biden does something like grabbing guns (forced reset trigger ban) or allowing spy balloons access to US territory, it is bad.

But if Trump grabs guns (bump stock ban), proposes gun confiscation without due process, wants to terminate the Constitution or allows spy balloons access to US Territory, it is okay.

At least a few people will call me a Biden supporter for this, but this would not be true. Both of these clowns are no good for us.

reply

If it happened before then why are we just hearing about it now? The facts seem contrived and made up to me.

reply

The DOD allegedly had this info for two years and coincidentally waited to release that info until after Biden took heat over his delay to act.

They claimed that they briefly flew over Florida, Guam, and Hawaii?! Not comparable to letting one hover for a week over the entire country, especially a missile silo.

They were so brief that Trump didn't even have time to have it shot down, if he was even made aware of them.
They were so brief that there are no civilian claims or footage about them anywhere, unlike the current one that was spotted on day one.

They have fabricated and lied about everything else.

This sounds like more convenient fake news coming from an unnamed source at DOD.

reply

Because Trump thinks and acts like he is not accountable for anything.

reply

Why should you care either way…that is ironic coming from you since you claim not to vote for either side.
🤔🤔🤔

reply

I do vote. Did you think that my ballot was limited to voting for president? Mighty naive of you to think so. My voting is not limited to a "side" as I vote on the issues, not the party.

There are lots of people I have opinions about. Most of them are not running for office.

I pass judgement on people based upon what they do or say. As long as Trump is alive, I will judge him for his failings.

reply

And it is mighty naive of you to think that none of the "sides" come with any issues.

Your perfect idealistic UTOPIA exists only in your mind.

Instead of passing judgement, try becoming one of them so you can make a difference for the better and then everyone else can pass judgement on you.

reply

Can you read? I said I vote on the issues.

I never claimed there was any utopia.

I don't know what country you live in, but in the USA is it the voters' job to judge the candidates and choose the ones they want to represent the people. Voting is part of how I pass judgement.

I've been rather active in the political arena for over a decade. I'm getting old and have no interest in running for office.

People do pass judgement on me all the time. When I discuss in detail how Trump positioned himself as a gun grabber in 2018, I'm told that makes me a Biden supporter even though I've never voted for him. When I say that Trump has no business saying he is pro-gun, then backing anti-gun proposals or enacting anti-gun executive actions, I'm told by Trump supporters that no one needs those kinds of guns anyway.

Telling someone that they are wrong by imagining that they said something, it not a good way to debate. You should stop as it makes you look immature.

reply

Can you read?...all sides have issues, none are perfect.

Than you should stop judging all sides, pick one regardless that none are perfect and deal with it.

Then you should stop passing judgement since you have no loyalties and no convictions to any sides as all you do is bitch about the "issues".

reply

I will never stop judging politicians. How do you decide who to vote for? Just pick a party and vote only for them? If you do, then that is very stupid.

Of course I have no loyalties to politicians; that is for sheep.

Issues are far more important than loyalty to a politician.

reply

Where did I mention anything about having loyalties to politicians?!

It is not about the politician(s); it is about the "political party" or "side" or "foundation" or "philosophy".

You obviously don't have any since you are too blinded by the "politicians" and their damn "issues"...seriously; that tunnel vision is impairing your objectivity.

reply

Ranb, one of the bigger jokes at MC. Always trying to claim Trump is a massive threat to the 2nd amendment while conveniently ignoring the real threat, the Democrat party.

Your typical Democrat lemming gaslighter.

reply

I do not ignore Biden threat to the 2nd Amendment at all.

But people like you seem to think that Biden banning reset triggers and classifying arm braces as shoulder stocks is fine because Trump grabbed bump stocks by classifying them as contraband machine guns

reply

say what about Trump and inflation

reply

And another Ranb post that doesn’t age well. Lemmings gonna lemming.

reply

Your link says in part;

"Instances of this kind of balloon activity have been observed previously over the past several years. Once the balloon was detected, the U.S. government acted immediately to protect against the collection of sensitive information,"

Several years ago Trump was president.

reply

John Bolton, who hates Trump and would have no reason to defend him, said he never heard about any Chinese balloons before, during or after Trump's presidency.

reply

Yeah, it is an emerging story. There are likely to be more changes as more info is released.

reply

I call BS on this. Knowledge of the recent balloon escapade did not go public until people saw it in the sky. There was no denying it. It happened in Montana initially. Now we are supposed to believe that people in Hawaii and Florida did not visually see it. Those two states have a higher population density than Montana. The whole time Trump was in office the media tried labeling Trump as a pawn of foreign interests. If there were balloon incidents during Trump's time in office there would have been an intense media coverage of that designed to further weaken Trump.

reply

exactly, this lie was also debunked by real clear politics.
