It had nothing to do with masks. Science (the real kind, not the ideologically motivated kind) has shown over and over that masks do not prevent the spread of viruses, including corona virus. The disclaimer on packages of masks even says they don't work. Everything the virus has done would have happened even if every person in the country had been double-masked 24 hours a day.

It's funny to look back at how Joe Biden salivated with excitement over the Covid death toll during the US election campaign and regularly highlighted it. That death toll is not so joyful for him now that it has more than doubled under his administration. There's no getting around the fact that his handling of COVID-19 (like everything else) has been a catastrophic disaster.
