Sentenced to 17 years
Oh well
shareDid she do the tombstone wrong?
shareShe was given so many more chances than a regular person. Took somebody to die for them to finally put her away.
shareSo glad I quit drinking, my biggest fear was killing someone due to my drunk driving. 947 days sober off that shit, I won't ever go back π
shareThat's awesome!
shareKeep up the good work
shareCongrats!!! You should be PROUD of yourself!!!
shareAwesome!
shareA good friend of mine served 22 years for a drug related murder that happened when he was 19. He didn't *blame* alcohol but always said he did stupid shit when he drank, including the gun play that caused the killing in a drug deal gone bad. He was sentenced to life, but has been out on parole 25 years (that's when I met him). He's been trying to get the parole dismissed but it doesn't seem likely. Still, he hasn't touched a drop and is happy to have been given another chance.
For me, I drove with too much booze in me a few times without incident, but the night that changed my life was when I was driving home from a bar where the guys in my night school class went to watch Monday Night Football on a front projection TV maybe about 1978 or 79.
Driving late that night about a mile from home, I entered a decreasing radius turn too quickly and found myself full in the on-coming lane in my 74 Monte Carlo. Fortunately, there was no one in the other lane that night so I dropped my speed to 30 and drove home. I was stunned, embarrassed, and then furious that I had lost control of a motor vehicle. That was the last time I drove after drinking. Almost 50 years now.
