Plenty of her types come along with a little hype by studio bosses and are given roles in decent sized studio films but never connect with a audience and this happened with Shannyn. She became a mother early into her run as well and started to do a lot of easy pay day films rather then doing the usual big films and small indies to show off her acting talent and build a strong foundation for her career. The last thing I saw her in was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and that was ages ago. I also got with some interviews that been a actress wasn't really a dream job.
Just a case of a actress who probably didn't see acting or fame as her main aim just a easy pay day.

shareHartnett is another case of someone who just didn't have the drive to be a superstar also he manage to piss off people behind the scenes. Unlike Shannyn though Hartnett had a decent run in Hollywood, he did some enjoyable films like The Faculty, Black Hawk Down, Lucky number Slevin, 30 days of night, Sin City and The Virgin Suicides. He should have been the Channing Tatum of the early 00's but he just never had the drive.
He had a bit of a career revival with Penny Dreadful but he never reached the heights of his early years.
Apparently he was groomed by Kevin Spacey (which is why he was cast in so many big budget films so early in his career), had a nervous breakdown, left Hollywood to get some therapy, and then came back after he got his head got on right.
All because some gay guy brushed his hair for him? What a fragile mentality Hartnett must have!
