RIP, just watched last week Great Escape with him in the cinema

shareI was also thinking of that watching the movie, its already 60 years past and he was one of the youngest cast member. But eventually, William Russel (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0257920, honestly can't remember him being part of the cast) and John Leyton (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0508105) seems to be still alive.
shareI remember when I was a kid in the late 60s Napoleon Solo or Ilya Kuryakin was like Kirk vs. Spock. I can't quite remember which camp I fell in, but we all thought the name "Ilya Kuryakin" was really cool.

Really sad to see this. I knew him as Ducky from "NCIS" (That was one of the first TV shows my wife and I would watch together after we were first married back in 2005). I knew nothing about his character from "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." character and how he was regarded as a "sex symbol" back then. Great actor...RIP.

My wife and I watched "NCIS" around the first ten seasons and then we stopped. Our kids started getting older and it just got to the point where we just didn't watch the show anymore. It amazes me that the show is still being aired today...sounds like your dad has stuck with it thru thick & thin all these years!
By the way, I have two older sisters and my second-oldest sister told me tonight that they watched "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." when they were kids in the 60s and my oldest sister had a crush on David McCallum. RIP.
YEAH MAN FROM UNCLE...APPARENTLY IN ONE EPISODE HARMON IS ASKED TO DESRIBE HIS FATHER WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER...AND HARMON DESCRIBES HIM LOOKING LIKE ILYA KURIAYAKAKAK...WHATEVER THAT NAME IS MCALLUM PLAYED ON MAN FROM UNCLE...MY DAD LOVES THAT LITTLE META MOMENT.

shareI met him one day in 1966 on the set of "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." at MGM. I was just a kid he'd never seen before, but he was really nice. No "star" BS at all.
