This photo of Mansfield & Sophia Loren is hilarious.

Sophia is eyeing Jayne's breasts. And the snide look on her face is lol.

I've seen that picture before. When a woman is dressed like that, and her assets are that ample not even the straightest of straight women can resist looking.

reply

For god's sake it's nothing to do with Loren being "straight"! Why the fck do people have to assume a homosexual angle in every damn thing today? Sophia Loren was looking at Jayne Mansfield's displayed breasts simply because that's what women do. They check out other women to see how well they stack up in comparison with them. It's a habit as old as the hills.

And on close inspection, it looks like Loren is merely thinking, "Jayne, that right nipple is about to pop out. Best adjust your dress, dear".

Your screen name suits you.

reply

Well, that could mean a lot of things. Want to elaborate?

reply

Nope.

reply

Have it your own way.

But I'll be generous and I'll assume you're referring the movie, "The Castle". If not, then you're just another one who doesn't know Latin.

reply

That's interesting...

reply

That's a classic, what a great catch.

Here's a youtube analysis.

Interesting. But if there was a rivalry between the two, Sophia Loren clearly outdid Mansfield. There is no comparison of the acting skills between the two. Loren was a classic. Mansfield was a bit of joke with giant breasts.

I think in retrospect, wouldn't most men say Sophia Loren was far sexier? Mansfield was a one night stand. Loren was the hot depth of passion.

reply

I'd agree with that assessment. I've dated girls like Mansfield in the sense that they look great, have ample assets, but you wouldn't want to bring them home to meet your parents. You'd be too worried that they'd do or say something embarrassing. Some of those girls I didn't even want to go out in public with due to how they dressed. There's a time and a place for dressing like a whore, there's a time and a place for being daring, and a time and a place for attention seeking (all in the bedroom behind closed doors). Sadly, women like Jayne, simply didn't have the common sense when to know when those times were, and when those times weren't. And while I am aware that Jayne had an IQ of 163, she lacked common sense, and it damaged her career. A person can have an IQ of 890, but if they lack common sense it's like having the plans for the Death Star, but not having the know how to do anything with them. Let's all thank the Force that Jayne wasn't a member of the Rebellion! Eh, but who knows, maybe Lord Vader liked hot Blondes with ample assets.

The thing about Loren is that she came across as lovable in so many ways! She was a beautiful, sexy, sensual woman... but she was also someone who seemed like they'd be a friend you could count on, she glowed when she played maternal roles, she might be your good-natured neighbor who'd watch your kid for an hour or bring soup over when you're sick, and wouldn't you like to share a couple of bottles of wine with her and laugh at life? And she was also a very skilled actor, she was absolutely everything one could want in a screen goddess.

Mansfield seemed to know she didn't have much to offer but her figure. It's amazing that she was successful as she was, and she was never very successful.

reply

On the contrary, Otter, I think she was exactly the opposite of a lovable woman. And ironically for this thread, I think any sexiness she displayed was solely due to her large tits. The woman never smiled. She looked permanently sour and glum. I was always fascinated that such a woman with such prominent breasts could come across so sexless.

reply

I'm going to recommend the 1950s movie "Houseboat" to you, a very funny and charming romantic comedy where she played opposite Cary Grant.

She's glowingly joyous in that movie, not a shred of glumness to be seen, she sings and smiles and falls in love. I don't know which of her movies you've seen, but I do think you have a limited impression.

reply

I think I've seen it, although it was a long time ago.

I just checked out the trailer, and I suppose I have to admit she does seem to be smiling in that movie... The underlying scowl is still there, though.

reply

I’m confused. Egosomnia seems to be talking about Mansfield (with her large chest) and Otter seems to be talking about Loren (who was in Houseboat). Which is the actress who’s supposedly joyless and sexless?

reply

Ah, you're right, now I'm confused... except that in his second post he seems to be talking about Loren.

reply

Well, I loved Loren in Houseboat and recall her really carrying Grant in some ways as he was near the end of his career. That’s a very lighthearted movie I saw during the first round of the pandemic and it was a nice escape for a couple of hours.

reply

How could you be confused, Otter? In my reply I quoted your own comment about Loren, viz, that she was "lovable." Pretty clear that I'm talking about Loren in both my replies. :)

And Beasouth, they've both got large chests. Don't tell me you didn't notice. :)

reply

Ahhhhhh. Okay, I’m back on track. It was the “big t*ts” comment that confused me because the only boobs being discussed were Mansfield (and in the linked photo they are gigantic compared to Loren’s which made me think you could only have been speaking about Mansfield)

reply

Yes, in that photo they definitely stand out, so to speak. But Sophia Loren is very well-endowed too. And maybe that's part of the reason for her expression in that photo. She's thinking, "Go ahead honey, stick them out. But I could beat those two any day of the week". Women know how other women enhance or disguise their tits.

reply

Otter said Sophia Loren was "lovable". I said she was the opposite of lovable. Otter referred me to the movie "Houseboat", in which he says she was joyous. I said I checked the trailer and agreed that she did actually smile in that film.

I don't know how you got the idea I was talking about Jayne Mansfield!

Yes, I've heard before that she won't sign that particular photo. As you say, class act.

reply

Legendary photo.

reply

Those nipples are just bursting to be free.

reply

It's the fookies fault.
