Luke Skywalker, who had faced and conquered his recklessness and other youthful imperfections in Ep6, fully maturing into a Jedi Knight, now appears like a broken down old alcoholic bum yelling at Rey to get off of his lawn.

Luke Skywalker, the man who went to his evil father to save him from the dark side, breaks into his nephew Ben’s bedroom while Ben was asleep. He contemplated murdering his nephew. Yes, Luke may have been conflicted about that and didn’t go through with the murder, but he ignited his lightsaber and looked like he might actually go through with the murder. At an absolute minimum, this makes Luke super-creepy, and not much like Luke Skywalker.
