Are people ignoring that his mologue was something the producers of the show approved?

I keep hearing how Ricky "roasted" Hollywood and such but it sounds more like people think that Ricky was given an open mic to say whatever he wanted when the reality is that these things are per-approved by the show producers. If anything this monologue was in a way the producers telling the celebrities in attendance to keep it down with the political preaching because this has had a negative impact in the shows's ratings.

Ahhh good point. I don't really care for him usually, but I am so glad he said what he said regardless.

“If ISIS started a streaming service, you would call your agent, wouldn’t you?” he joked. “So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech, right? You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world.”

reply

If it were real we’d never hear from him again.

Ryan Seacrest interviewed Ricky at the pre-show. He basically told Ryan he couldn't wait for it to be over, like the audience 😂 and he was going to say awful things about the actors but that they're just jokes.
Ryan said he saw the producers the day before and asked them if they saw everything Ricky was planning and they said yes. So then he asked Ricky if that was true-Ricky responded yes but there might be a couple of ad libs 😜

No doubt that the producers approved something he gave them, but it is unclear if he stuck with what he provided them with. I find it difficult to imagine they would have approved of him saying Judy Dench liked to lay on the floor and lick her own pussy... The amount of the speech that was bleeped out is beyond the limit you would expect if it was all a scripted speech that the producers approved of.

reply

Right, we don't know for sure.

reply

It doesn't matter. Most of what he said needed to be said.
I don't know for sure if RG entirely went by his pre-approved monologue or not but it feels like a win either way.
If it all was entirely approved than it could mean that Hollywood might be waking up to what a turn off all the Hollywood "wokeness" is and start changing direction.
