In other words, he's over your head.
Very few comedians are faster or more clever than Colbert.
I never noticed him much until I saw of few of his ad libs on this show.

Conservative Asshat was a character he played. In real life he’s a Liberal DB to the extreme. A biased, far left dick, who thinks he’s in the cool club. At least Maher realizes that club isn’t cool afterall.
