Honestly, my opinion is that she is free to make the kind of movies that she wants to make. A few people called her out on that, and that got press. It's still getting press. While I don't think that Kirk is the best person to try to get anyone who isn't already a fan to listen to reason as he has made some questionable comments in the past, he does have a good point. If she was uncomfortable with the direction Hallmark was going, she has every right to make movies which reflect her beliefs. Just like Hallmark has a right to make movies which are true for their actors.
I think where Megyn sort of loses me is when she talks about how it wasn't the comment it was the belief behind it. I think that's absolutely true. The problem is, that many who hold the belief that only straight marriage is the "traditional marriage" have tried to prevent lgbtq+ peoples from having marriage rights. So while her friend might think that Candance has a right to make movies, he may feel differently about those who want to make his marriage illegal.
