who will be cast in the HBO mini series?

if he hadn't died then Gandolfini would've been a dead cert.

but now.. its bound to be Vincent D'Onofro

like Gadolfini D'Onofro is a few years younger than HW who is 65 which is fine as no doubt the series would encompasses different stages in his life and the series wont be made for at least a couple of years anyway (had no idea JG was so young he only 51 when he died in 2013). VD is notably taller than HW who was more JG height (6ft) but HW kind of looked bigger than he was anyway (was surprised he was 'only' 6ft as thought he was about 6ft 4 like VD)

as for others youd have the guy that played the Tarantino part in the Dusk from Dawn tv series as QT, (and maybe the guy playing the Clooney part in that as Clooney), Damon would be that younger actor that looks like him, Pitt would be some model type etc. Affleck - some tall doofus type guy. as for all the women - again various lookalikes .

imagine a script is probably already in the planning stages but they will obviously want to wait maybe a couple of years for further revelations, court cases etc before finalizing it..

I think it would be hilarious if Weinstein produced it, and painted himself as a helpless victim.

reply

don't think he'll producing anything. ever again

And HOW will these lookalike actresses get their roles? Can't believe everyone is acting like they never heard of the 'casting couch' before. People are surprised by this? Well, put your blinders on folks... the world is a fair place, where the right thing always happens and people always treat each other with respect and dignity. This is just a horrible dream, and you'll awaken soon. No way would a movie producer offer aspiring actresses roles in films for sexual favors. Jesus! I've known about this shit since I was seven years old, why the shock? Really, I'm asking.

reply

it is time (in Arnie voice)

maybe things will really change now as what movie producer, moviestar etc is gonna want to risk being splashed all over social media now..(which basically means their lives are over)

I know this is out of left field, but if you google Seth Rogen right now, look at the main picture they have for him, take away the glasses, make his right eye slightly lazy, and make him look older with make-up... that's pretty close. His breakout dramatic performance?

Jeff Garlin

reply

Yeah, Jeff Garlin is the closest lookalike of the actors mentioned in this thread.

reply

He'd be ideal, I don't think too many actors would be keen on taking the roll on though.

reply

Apparently, he's already played a character based on Harvey Weinstein in a 2008 episode of Law & Order.
So, there's a chance he would take the part, unless he's averse to retreading certain roles.

reply

Good call, I've never seen him in anything serious though, how would his acting hold up?

Maury Chaykin did a great job playing Harvey on Entourage, he's dead now though.

reply

Good pick from living actors.

but now.. its bound to be Vincent D'Onofro

I'm leaning that direction too, but another viable option would be Jonah Hill.

I actually thought of him too, which led me to thinking of Rogen.
