I thought she would be a big star

After Northern Exposure and Cliffhanger I thought she could be a big film star. She's beautiful, a pretty good actress and yes, she has has a successful TV career but I can't help wondering why it wasn't higher profile.
Also, I know we have too many of these kind of posts but I thought this a long time ago and I was a little surprised to find no other posts for her.

She's not a big star for one reason. She's an outspoken conservative and that is a more definitive way to get blacklisted than being a pedophile.

reply

I don't belief that but even so, we're going back to 90's here - the world was not such a poisonous place then.

reply

We're not talking about the world. We're talking about the Hollyweird microcosm.

Why is everything political with you freaks?

In this case, Craig might be right. I don't have a clue why she wasn't a bigger star or if she's conservative (nor do I care either way), but it's a fact that conservatives are blackballed as commies were in the 40s and 50s.

So the answer, even though it touches politics, can't be immediately discounted as incorrect.

That happened to Kristy Swanson too. Hollywood isn't even liberal anymore. Yes, there is a very strong leaning towards progressivism, but honestly Hollywood is a lot closer to being downright satanic. If an actress or actor doesn't push their satanic agenda they will be blacklisted. I'll probably get called names for writing that, but I don't care. Anyone who isn't completely brainwashed by the media can see Hollywood's satanic agenda. They don't even try to hide it.

You're a wee bit touched in the head , aren't you?

reply

No kidding. But the point is to lLIE long and loud so as to confuse people to what's real and what's not. That's how we got to Pizza Gate all the way up to The Big Lie. It's a conscious strategy we have to expose and be vigilant against, unfortunately.

And take note of the constant drumbeat over "pedophilia". What does that tell you?

reply

Yet another stupid assertion by MC's most notable prevaricator.
Everyone who brings up pedophilia is admitting their fascination with the subject, having their mind in the gutter while pointing fingers at innocent people just because the internet makes it too easy to be morally offensive just for adolescent giggles.

reply

She was good on NE. I've never seen her in anything else. I'm assuming that's her and agent's choice. She could get roles that don't have to be lead actress or Hallmark stuff. Please don't say she can't get work she could do two Xmas movies a year no question.

reply

It's true and your wishful thinking won't make it not true. Hollywood types have to become untouchable like Clint Eastwood before being an outspoken conservative doesn't have an effect on their career. Prove me wrong. Bringing up pedophilia was a direct Hollywood reference to its pedophiles and rapists. How long did Hollywood tolerate Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Sheen and Kevin Spacey? These are facts. If you can't handle the truth, stay out of my posts.

Yeah. The fact that she didn't show her tits and cooter on camera is a far more viable explanation for her career not taking off

She had a supporting role on a moderately popular tv sitcom in the 90s and a supporting role in a Stallone action film. Not exactly on the Oscar path with that. Unfortunately beautiful actresses have very short careers unless they land breakout roles that transcend the ‘pretty girl’ typecastings. Charlize Theron did that with Monster (2003)

I think the only other think I've seem her in is Stolen Women where she has long red hair that really suited her but which was really just a well made TV movie. I wonder what her career would have been like with a few more film roles and perhaps the lead in a rom-com of that time. But of course you can say the same for many many actors and actresses.

She refused to fuck Jewish predators on an office couch.

What I love about all of these idiotic claims of an entertainer being ostracized because of a political stance is how they almost always ignore the possible behavior of those that seem to have a failed career.

So many of these starts are probably ostracized because of THEIR behavior - maybe they are nuts, difficult to work with, or just plain assholes.

Take a look at Tom Selleck - his views have been known for decades but he still finds successful work and no one seems to point out that this is probably because in person he is most likely a very pleasant person to be around.

Now, look at James Woods - all through the years, it has been well-publicized that he is difficult to work with and is kind of bonkers.

So there is that....
