She wasn't that great of an actress.

I hate when people die they get propped up to a level they weren't at. I kept hearing she was one of the best young actresses or one of the best actresses of he generation. Just say that she was a good actress (which I don't believe, but at least it's not complete hyperbole) and move on. There's no need to make the person who died sound like they were a trailblazer. I mean, you weren't saying this stuff when they were alive, what good does it do them now?

reply

Why don't you keep your goddamn toxic thoughts to your self, you insensitive bastard!!

reply

It's insensitive to think that someone is a bad actress 12 years after she died?

reply

no it's not toxic.

reply

Guaranteed if I said the same thing about some actor from the 40s, they wouldn't care that I said it.

reply

Why don't you log off and stay in your safe space where words won't hurt your feel-feels?

reply

Each to their own but I always enjoyed her acting. She was a sweetheart and I think the fact that she’s still fondly remembered so long after her passing speaks for itself.

Not that I’m challenging your opinion, there definitely is a tendency to look at the deceased through a more forgiving lens at times. I just think Brittany is an odd target, I haven’t heard many people raving about her acting since she passed, more that she was sweet and is missed.

When I wrote this thread, I was looking through some of her videos on YouTube and the comments were talking about her as if she was the next Meryl Streep. No one was saying she was great when she was alive so I think they're being dishonest and letting their emotions speak.

reply

I agree.

Simps and morons over-elevate talentless-but-cute lucky breaks like this.

Princess Di, Anne Boleyn, etc - victim mentality rules, ffs.

reply

This has more to do with people propping up her talent after her death than her being cute.

reply

I don't know her movies so that I could judge her acting, but she was sweet in Sin City. Most likely the best movie she acted in. Based on that one movie alone, I was disturbed by her death.

reply

I barely remember her in that. I think it was only one scene at a window. But she was medicore over the years.

reply

No, she was also working at the strip tease club as a waitress. The scene you're referring to was much bigger than just a window. Big enough to make an impression on me.
