Height can be subjective, if youre taller than average yes that is short. But if you are a 5'9" fellow and you look around you'll see many people are same height as you. I just looked it up and 69.1 inches is the average height in the US. 69 inches equals 5'9" tall. Of course a 5'9" dude in an Asian country will be considered tall. I think people like to assume 6'0 is average height for a man because its a nice round number, many dudes claim to be it if they are close, and also women desire men who are 6'0" and taller. Just like many men desire curvy short women who are healthy in weight.
Im not defending the other posters behavior or attitude, but I am defending that 5'9" is the average height for men in the US at least.
