shouldn't we be cancelling Amy Heckerling for directing FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMOT HIGH and all it's debauchery treatment of women??

Nah. But she kinda ruined this movie with her ponderous direction style. Same with European Vacation. Having a typical melodramatic Cameron Crow script probably didn't help her out.

She is a good director though as 'Look Who's Talking' proved, but I never rated this movie as high as the Hughes teen movies precisely because she made it too slow and melodramatic in places.
