Smart

think of the ratings.

reply

He'd probably get a standing ovation from all the phonies when he first walks on stage, but why reinforce it as a defining moment in your career? Make Smith jokes when he's not even there? It's just weird, but yes, it would drive ratings. And I guess the conspiracy theorists took another hit with his refusal. The master plan to save the Oscars!

reply

I'd be more pissed at the event holders than Will Smith himself. He should have been kicked out after the incident rather than be let back on stage and celebrated.

reply

Yes, he should have been tossed out and promptly arrested.

reply

It’s funny because they audience really got the reaction of the wider world totally wrong. They all clapped and thought the great unwashed would see Smith as a hero.

Umm nope.

reply

He should host it wearing a helmet the whole time.

reply

Betcha he presents an award, and the ceremony joke writers try to make him come out in a helmet!

And he tells the AMPAS to stuff it, why should he help them shore up their desperately low ratings?

reply

It is not necessarily a given that things will continue on the way they have been.

reply

I don't blame him one single solitary bit. I wouldn't go back there either to host after how wrong they did him. Letting that piece of shit not only stay but then to give him an award on top of it?? I would unceremoniously tell them to go fuck themselves so hard. And Chris is also more stoic and kind hearted than me. If I was Chris, I'd be eviscerating the absolute shit out of that asshole and his asshole wife at every single show. Can you just imagine the jokes that he could come up with about them if he really wanted to??
