You can tell Rock didn't grow up in the hood
...he would have ducked.
shareHe grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant, so you couldn't be more wrong. (I'm from Brooklyn, NY.) Maybe Bed-Stuy wasn't Detroit, but it was and still is a rough area.
shareIt's a shame we got off on a bad foot, because sometimes I agree with your posts, as I do here.
I mean, you're only stating a fact, but it's a fact that's quite rightly being made to refute a foolish and demeaning assumption on the OP's part.

Isn't this what's called 'victim-blaming'?
shareChris Rock stated he loved Will Smith for such a long time. He was smiling and curiously awaiting what Smith was gonna do. I was of the belief (at first) that Will Smith was gonna do a playful noogie with a couple of harmless rib jabs while laughing like a friend might. But it took this awful turn and Chris was both shocked and later on disappointed by someone he loved. That or maybe Will was gonna say a joke about Chris Rock that would've been funny.
Will Smith shouldve divorced that awful woman a long time ago.
Agreed about his wife. She seems like low class trash and completely beneath him, the type of clean cut, middle class black person would hook up with out of a complex of not being "black enough." It's so frustrating how many blacks from that generation were given complexes because of gangsta rap. Once that crap came out, everyone had to be the stereotype or not be seen as "really black." Same thing happened to Whitney Houston.
shareShe was an actor, a singer, had some talent, and was gorgeous. I actually really liked Jada Pinkett in Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight. She was a good actor in Menace 2 Society, and recently I liked her as Fish Mooney on the show Gotham. I never thought of her as "low class". She seemed like she was working toward her goals in those early years. I remember Tupac once saying something along the lines of "I coulda hooked up with Jada in those early years if I wanted to" which pissed Will Smith off as its such a clown thing to say about someones wife. I felt awful when hearing all these things about her and their marriage. What we can all learn from them, is if someone cheats its all over. An open marriage never works, cheating for revenge doesnt work. Its over, dont try to make it work and never announce to the world the dirty deeds. That saying "Dont air our your dirty laundry in public" applies here.
I think Will Smith did that slap, as he has been so emasculated by the destroyed marriage, that he wanted to feel like a man. He wasnt slapping Chris Rock. He was slapping his own anger of what all has happened to him.
Nothing can take away the fact that JPS is attractive and a decent actor, as well as has a great onscreen presence. I just meant that in her personal life, she seemed to be kind of trashy. Her taste in men before and outside of their marriage speaks volumes.
Also, there's her behavior. There was a video that came out some time ago that was very revealing about the two. IIRC, she was trying to record a personal moment and upload it on social media. He said he didn't want it, in a respectful tone, but dismissed him by calling his reaction "foolishness."
I understand what you mean. Trashy behavior defines you, no matter how much talent you have. I saw some of that video actually! She came off as this manipulative narcissist. Smith was setting boundaries and she just wasnt having it. Their relationship wasnt balanced well like it should be. That woman was tearing him down. I've dated an emotionally abusive woman, and I dumped her in three months. Smith seems to have been with one for years...I feel sorry for his situation.
Will Smith would have been better off marrying a woman that wanted to be a real wife.
Good one OP. I know you’re joking while simultaneously laying down a bit of truth; please don’t quote me on this, do some research first, but I believe Rock has some form of a non verbal learning disorder which makes it difficult for him to read body language as well as facial expressions.
Furthermore, Smith didn’t approach Rock in an overtly aggressive manner, he walked up to Rock as if he was playing into the joke.
Anyone looking for a good laugh, I highly recommend Rock’s new Netflix special, not all the jokes landed for me, but the majority of them did, and I was laughing out loud on multiple occasions, which for me signifies that the material is funny af.
He gets some solid digs into Will’s shameful behavior as well as calling out Jada for what she really is.
No, you're right that he has a learning disability. I vaguely recalled him saying that, but had wanted to bring this up but didn't want to post it without finding it out first. However, I found the articles about it. It's called NLVD:

Good link, thanks for posting.
