Why are vegans usually so intolerant of other people's non-vegan behavior? Vegetarians, in my experience, are usually pretty tolerant of others who do not hold with their beliefs; but vegans are the judgiest people in the world. They're like pro-life types.
Vegans are not vegetarians for a start. They have gone one step further, to primarily not consume eggs or milk and dairy products....and therefore no animal products. Vegetarians cannot be as militant as vegans (although not all vegans are such) because by consuming eggs and milk and dairy products they are still supporting animal agriculture and saying that it is ok. Plenty of omnivores (or non vegans) are intolerant of vegans, but again, not all omnivores are. Intolerance and militarism takes many forms; not everyone is a d*ck though. It is a shame there are extremists and so much nastiness on both sides.

It's interesting that Joaquin Phoenix seems to think that he has some big moral high-ground to stand on considering that not too long ago, he worked with Woody Allen:

And, while his admittedly accurate rant about the dairy industry took centre stage in this year's acceptance speech, it seems that his morality wasn't as well-honed in 2015. This was the year he starred in Irrational Man, which was written and directed by Woody Allen. The same Woody Allen who made a joke about his ex-wife's sexual assault as part of a televised interview. The same Woody Allen who, at 56, started a sexual relationship with a girl more than thirty years his junior who was the adopted daughter of his then-wife Mia Farrow and her ex-husband Andre Previn. The same Woody Allen who was accused in 1992 of having molested his own 7-year-old adoptive daughter, a claim she has consistently made to the present day.
With Phoenix playing the lead role, he was an avatar of Allen himself. Unsurprisingly, he murders a family court judge and tries to murder the main woman in his life; things that bring him the first joy he's felt in a long time.
The same Woody Allen who has been cleared by no less than two respected and independent child sexual assault agencies. The same Woody Allen who began a relationship with a woman who he's been married to for 25 years and who has two adopted children signed off on by a judge who did look at the evidence regarding the alleged sexual assault of a daughter who was coached by her spastic mother. A mother who has a brother who is currently serving time in prison for two cases of sexual assault and rape on two boys under the age of 10.

The same Woody Allen who's adopted son, Moses, has written a blog post supporting his father and indicting his mother for her abuse of other adopted children, even citing her apathy and abuse of three coloured adopted children who have all committed suicide.

But hey, let's keep dredging up spurious allegations that have absolutely no proof whatsoever. And while we're talking of art imitating life, let's bring up that Alfred Hitchcock was known to have terrorized Tippi Hedron to the point she had a breakdown.
