No, addiction is not a disease.
A disease implies that you have no control over your actions.
shareI think that's going a bit far, but if true, I guess we should stop punishing murderers, rapists, etc.

When you Google search for medical articles on this subject you get varying opinions. I personally think addiction is a mental disorder. I think addiction should be designated into certain levels like a spectrum used for Autism. Human beings can have different levels of self-control over a wide variety of consumption, activity, and mental acuity that cannot be justifiably categorized simply as a disease.
shareIt’s a disease.
Lord, what an unintelligent alleged discussion.
i tend to agree
shareI hate it when ignorant people post "statements" or "proclaimations" of their opinions, especially when they opinions are ignorant, uninformed, wrong, or vicious. Posts like that should be indications of a toxic citizen in our midst, and they should be banished from society, or disenfranchised from the vote because they cannot think logically or for the social good.
If we lived in a tribal society and there were certain people that always wanted to screw up every process, belief or ritual in the society, why would anyone want to keep them around? Banish them. Let them go form their own competing society and see how that works for them.

Then why are you posting?
