Whoa...

NOBODY has started a conversation about Jane March? She made two pause-worthy movies in the early 1990s.

reply

LOL. Why yes, yes she did. Ahem. Don't ask me how I know. Er -- wait-- no, a friend told me. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Seriously though, in my opinion The Lover is a solid, epic drama about a young woman figuring out life. Color Of Night is a hokey, implausible, too-slick-for-its-own-good yet still quite entertaining mess that's memorable for reasons other than the story (especially the unrated version), also known as the flick Bruce Willis frees little willy on screen for a brief second. I'm with you on the astonishment that there's no conversation until your post about her, although I suppose she did fade pretty quickly after those two movies.

She also played an interesting character in Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula.

she guest-starred on an episode of Relic Hunter with Tia Carrere

What’s another actress that falls into this category of…made one heck of a sexy (but surprisingly brief) run in mainstream films, and then practically disappeared?

I’ll start with two: Phoebe Cates….and Michelle Johnson (Blame it on Rio).

reply

*michelle johnson

olivia d'abo sort of maybe?
jamie gertz?

reply

Ah yes, Michelle Johnson. Edit made.

What about the chick from Youngblood?

reply

Michelle Johnson, forgot all about her! The only reason to watch Blame It On Rio.

reply

She did indeed! I miss those 90s/early 2000s shows that ran in syndication (often Canadian-produced) in the U.S. like High Tide (with Rick Springfield), Relic Hunter, Poltergeist: The Legacy, Highlander, Forever Knight (based on the 80's TV movie Nick Knight which starred, you guessed it, Rick Springfield), Earth: Final Conflict, La Femme Nikita, The Adventures of Sinbad, Da Vinci's Inquest, The Lost World, Lexx, The Outer Limits (I didn't have Showtime at the time, so like Stargate SG-1 watched most seasons in syndication until the SciFi channel took over), Mutant X, etc. Although I suppose the trend did continue somewhat with shows like Lost Girl, Continuum, Legend Of The Seeker, etc. As you can tell my brain decided to indulge in a nostalgic deep dive there.

I also have very fond memories of The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, a Canadian/SciFi production.

I thought The Color Of Night was light, hokey, delightful, and Jane March was incredibly sexy and hot.

reply

Yeah, someone should have said something in 20+ years.
I will say I thought she was one of the most sexy women on screen at that time.

reply

She was credited as one of the gods of Olympus in the "Clash Of The Titans" remake, but I don't think she even got a line, unfortunately. Shame.

reply

Joy and purity!!

reply

Glad to see folks acknowledging her body of work.

She played Jane opposite Casper Van Dien's Tarzan in 1998's "Tarzan and the Lost City" (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120856/mediaviewer/rm1402340097/).

She definitely had an active board on IMDb. It apparently never made it over here. Had a huge crush on her back in the day.
