It is fairly common knowledge that Maguire is a jerk, so I won't go into all the specific details. But was he like this before he was famous or did he turn into this once he was an A-lister (2001-2007) as Spiderman?
shareI don't know about him being a jerk, but I disagree about his A-list status during his Spiderman phase, because I think him playing Spidey ruined his already established niche playing troubled young men who overcome their shortcomings (1998 - 2001). He was Oscar nominated movies but after Spiderman he just faded into the ether. His small return in movies like "Brothers" didn't reignite his cachet either.

shareI don't know. I just can envision him being a jerk, at all. I've seen him in numerous interviews, and he just kinda comes across as a humble, unassuming guy. Quite a few big stars in Hollywood come across as big shots...arrogant....even cocky. However, TM never seemed to fit in to that mold. He seems pretty down-to-earth, maybe even a little on the shy side.
