Poo-poos his acting ability, and discounts him as a pretty boy and nothing more

BUT

I think it was because all those beach movies he made in the 60s that everyone stopped paying attention to him
He really had some talent for drama as well as comedy especially from the mid 70s onward

I don't dislike the guy but he always comes across to me as though he thinks whatever he's in is a joke and that inside he's laughing at it.
