Bi, Gay, Straight, blah, blah, highschool... and a myth, questionmark?

So, it was kinda brought up in another thread, so I decided to post a kinda story/kinda question. I'm a girl. *waves* Hi everyone, how are you? And I like both boys and girls. *waves to boys and girls* So... I'm bisexual. (or pansexual... since I am perpetually a sexual creature.) However, I have a friend (Austin, say hi) who is gay (presents his boyfriend, the other Austin)and he tells me I'm a lesbian. However, I like both. I know it. He says there is no such thing as bisexual. In fact, he even requested that I tell him I'm a lesbian for his birthday. I didn't. Because I'm not. But he says that there is absolutely no way that a person can like both sexes. I beg to differ. Anyway, how do you think a person can tell that they are bisexual or prefer one of either sex. And do you think bisexuality is possible, as I do? Your thoughts?

Btw, I would be honored if you checked out my blog and commented.
I'm Vivian.

@TheGuardian13- I think the term most frequently ascribed to that type of lack of sexual interest in either gender is just called "asexuality" and it is fairly common. Just for the record :-)
