ETHNICITY? Is he Mexican or Native American or what?
Great actor btw.
shareI think you misunderstood me. I know what utterly and verily mean, I was just amused at your usage of two "archaic" terms.
You're not expressing logic here, just your opinion.
My original point still stands. You cannot argue that people of Spain cannot be referred to as Hispanic because the region no longer exists but their descendants who left Spain only a few hundred (and often less) years ago, can.
The Centro de Lenguas e Intercambio Cultural in Seville, Spain does a course entitled Hispanic Studies described as "designed for those students who wish to study subjects related to the Spanish language and literature"
At no point in Britain's history was it entirely populated by Saxons. I'm Welsh and the Saxons, more or less, stayed to the East of Offa's dyke.
So to recap.
Hispanic also refers to Spanish people as well as Latin Americans because they both originated in that area.
Geographically, coming from Wales (which also makes me British) means I ,along with the Irish and Scots, may be referred to as Celtic or Gaelic even though both those races no longer exist but never Anglo Saxon.
These are not my opinions, these are facts.
